Christopher R. Abrego
Christopher R. Abrego was born in Dallas, Texas and graduated first in his class at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a B.B.A. in Finance, summa cum laude, in 2001. He earned a masters degree (M.Sc.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and his law degree (J.D.) from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Chris Abrego has been recognized as one of the top young trial lawyers in the State of Georgia. For the past several years, Chris has been selected as a Rising Star Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine, based on a statewide survey of practicing attorneys. Only 2.5% of the total lawyers in Georgia are selected as a Rising Star. He holds a 10.0 Rating from Avvo, the highest rating awarded to an attorney based on industry recognition, experience and professionalism. Chris has been named to several lists of the best young lawyers in the country, including the American Society of Legal Advocates' 2012 Top 40 Under 40 and the National Trial Lawyers Association's 2013 Top 40 Under 40.
For the first eight years of his legal career, Chris apprenticed under several of the best trial lawyers in the United States at one of Atlanta's premier law firms. He honed his skills by trying numerous cases to juries throughout Georgia and the Southeastern United States. During that time, Chris successfully defended large corporations, insurance carriers and trucking companies in personal injury and business tort lawsuits. Chris learned how to try cases before juries and learned what motivates defendants to offer just compensation for their negligence.
After helping a family friend who suffered injuries in a motor vehicle collision caused by a drunk driver, Chris realized his passion for representing individuals injured by the negligence of others.
In 2013, Chris founded the law firm of Abrego & Everette, LLC to focus exclusively on the representation of plaintiffs who have been harmed by the wrongful actions of others. His areas of practice include automobile collisions, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability, negligent security, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, insurance coverage disputes, and virtually all types of cases involving injury or business torts. Chris has tried numerous cases to verdict and has represented clients before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
Chris also devotes his time to giving back to the legal profession and his community. Chris is currently serving a four-year term on the State Bar of Georgia's 17-member Formal Advisory Opinion Board providing ethical opinions and guidance to other practicing attorneys. He has previously served on the Board of Directors and Executive Council of the State Bar of Georgia's Young Lawyer's Division (YLD) and as Chair of the YLD Litigation Committee. Chris regularly chairs and speaks at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars on trial practice to other attorneys throughout the State. He also serves as President of his Homeowner's Association and has previously served on the Fulton County Advisory Committee of the United Way of Metro Atlanta and on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Chris resides in Johns Creek, Georgia with his wife, Lisa Anne, and their two daughters, Ella and Sophia. They are active members of Perimeter Church.
